In September 2023, Vancouver has approved for even more densification under their Multi-Plex Program.

This initiative was launched to create an affordable solution for living in Vancouver, one of the most expensive cities in the world, by maximizing the value of your property. Building a duplex home is an economical, practical, and innovative way to get a nice home for your family, as well as add to your property portfolio. This also provides the potential to have someone else help pay for some, or all, of the cost.

In September 2023, City of Burnaby has relaxed their zoning requirements to allow more properties to qualify for duplex home construction as well.
